Humidor Restoration
Our antique humidors have been fully restored and are perfect for the cigar aficionado who appreciates fine antique pieces. Many of these humidors are extremely rare and very difficult to find, thereby increasing the value and appeal of each one.
In the restoration process, all hinges, locks, handles, and other decorative hardware are removed so that the humidor may be cleaned and a multi-coat lacquer finish applied. The hardware is inspected and lubricated and then re-installed after the humidor has been lacquered and polished. We never polish the hardware and always take special care to preserve the original patina of the metal as we feel this adds to the unique beauty and value of each humidor.
If the humidor requires refinishing, it will be stripped, stained, and lacquered. If the humidor does not require refinishing, it will be thoroughly cleaned and polished to a beautiful luster. We always take special care to preserve the original patina of the wood.
Most antique and vintage humidors were originally lined with tin, copper, or porcelain. The original lining is removed and replaced with a premium 3/8” Spanish Cedar lining that will properly age and protect your fine collection of cigars. The entire humidor is lined on the sides, top and bottom. The bottom exterior of the humidor is lined with felt to protect the surface on which you choose to place it.
Each humidor is fitted with the appropriate humidification system consisting of a Credo humidifier and hygrometer. We also include a bottle of Credo Special Care Solution and a detailed Setup & Care Chart. Each humidor is also available without the Credo system if another system is preferred. We know that some cigar connoisseurs may prefer another system and we will deduct the cost of the Credo system from the price of the humidor being purchased.
These restored humidors will operate to the same tolerances as a newly manufactured humidor. Please remember that these humidors are antiques and as such they will show signs of age. We feel this only adds to the character, authenticity, and value of each humidor. We only offer humidors that meet our strict criteria and each humidor is backed by a 30-DAY SATISFACTION GUARANTEE.
Each humidor has a description and multiple photos showing the interior and exterior of each one in as much detail as possible. If a key is available, it will be shown in the photos and referenced in the description.
